Etna Apericena Wine Class
with Ted Diamantis
hosted by Scott Thomas
Apericena (a-per-ee-chaina) - a social hour that begins as an aperitivo and segues into a wine-filled dinner.
We can call this a sip and learn, a wine class, or just a great excuse to gather in conviviality as we explore wines.
While we may be an Italian-heavy wine outlet, we LOVE Greek wines—and we’re thrilled to share them with you in this special edition of our Apericena series.
Join us as we welcome Ted Diamantis, founder of Diamond Wine Imports and a pioneer in bringing Greek wines to the United States. For over 30 years, Ted has built deep relationships with Greece’s top growers and small family estates, helping introduce American wine lovers to the incredible diversity of Greek wine.
With a winemaking tradition that stretches back millennia—far longer than written records can fully capture—Greek wine is one of the world's oldest and most storied. And with over 200 native grape varieties, it’s best understood through tasting—especially with a guide as esteemed as Ted.
Expect to explore expressive grapes like Assyrtiko, Moschofilero, and Xinomavro, as Ted leads us through their history, terroir, and flavor profiles. Chef Ty will prepare a light two-pasta dinner, along with charcuterie and dessert, to round out the experience.
Don't miss this rare opportunity to taste and learn from one of Greek wine’s most passionate ambassadors.
